Assiniboine Park (Portage Entrance)

The Portage Ave entrance to Assiniboine Park is located on the south side of Portage Ave, at the end of Overdale St. There's a sizeable open area with a good view of the Assiniboine River, with a trio of pathways converging onto the footbridge leading to the main area of the park.

Cyclists looking to visit from the northwest may want to ride down Lodge Ave to Woodlawn St, where a traffic light provides a safe way to cross Portage Ave. Another traffic light is found at Overdale St, though Overdale tends to be filled with parked cars.

Welcome to Assiniboine Park! An entrance sign near the flower beds alongside Portage Ave greets visitors across from Overdale St.

Visitors entering the park entrance opposite Overdale St can use this pathway, passing by a monument on their way to the footbridge that leads to the main area of the park.

A sizeable open area surrounds a lone bench on the east side of the park entrance, facing south.

Visitors coming from the Deer Lodge neighbourhood can walk or cycle into the park using this pathway off Deer Lodge Pl, facing west.
