Buchanan

Buchanan sits between the west Perimeter Highway and Buchanan Ave, bounded by Saskatchewan Ave to the north, and Portage Ave to the south. There are several entry points along Portage Ave, but Buchanan Ave is the only street that enters off Saskatchewan Ave, and has an available bus route.

There are five city parks:

• The Alexander Ross Athletic Fields, found along the west side of Stradford St at Capulet Cres, offer a playground and several athletic fields.
• Isbister Park, found on the north side of Hamilton Ave just west of Buchanan Blvd, features a playground, a pond with a fountain, and two hills amongst an open area.
• Bernadine Stradford Park sits at the intersection between Stradford St and Bernadine Cres, featuring a playground and a view of the Assiniboina Downs.
• Bernadine Crescent Park sits at the intersection between Bernadine Cres and Olson Way, featuring a playground.
• Stewart / Livinia Park sits at the intersection between Stewart St and Livinia Ave just west of Buchanan Blvd, featuring a playground.
